Achieving Personal Best
ASSESSMENT & REPORTING
At each tracking window KS5 attainment data will be recorded as an A Level/BTEC grade. This will be the grade a student is likely to attain at the end of the year if they continue working in the same way.
Targets for subjects will be calculated from national data on the grade students achieved at A Level/BTEC based on their GCSE attainment. The target may be increased by the teacher.
Previous tracking data will be retained on the reports to allow students to plot their progress throughout the year. There will be the opportunity for students to reflect on their personal targets with their tutor during tutorials and PBT (Personal Best Time).
All students in Post 16 are assigned a personal tutor and all students undertake a programme which supports the development of life skills and wider enrichment. We take great pride in the tutor-student relationships we foster through academic mentoring and pastoral support.
Each Student will be expected to compile a personal development profile on the Unifrog system during their time in Post 16. With the help of curriculum areas and personal tutors they should record skills and knowledge they obtain through a wide range of both academic and social experiences. This helps contribute to an effective reference on completion of their time at Ilkley Grammar School.
- 16-19 BURSARY
- The 16-19 Bursary is available to all Post 16 students meeting the criteria. Payments are made by BACS transfer at the end of each half term providing the conditions of attendance and punctuality have been met.
Application forms and details of the entry criteria will be available in September from the Post 16 office and all applications must be submitted before October.
- PASTORAL SUPPORT
The Post 16 Student & Achievement Manager is Jan Stewart situated in the Post 16 Office. She is available for support and advice should a student experience difficulties during their time in Post 16. This includes special exam considerations and/or arrangements.
The school links to external agencies when further support is necessary.
