is a compulsory element of our students’ education at Key Stages 3 and 4. All
students receive a combination of pure Citizenship topics, as well as Personal,
Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education. The topics chosen are carefully
selected to ensure that they are age-appropriate and relevant to the students.
The new national Citizenship Programme of Study for September 2014 contains an
element of financial literacy and our curriculum reflects this. We also strive
to ensure that the curriculum is dynamic and ever- evolving, so that it
responds to the rapidly changing world in which we live.
Students in Year 7 will receive a wide Citizenship/PSHE education, specifically designed initially to help them to adjust to life in secondary school. By contrast older students will look at a wide variety of topics that are relevant and engaging to them, including around their digital footprint and healthy lifestyles.
At the heart of our curriculum though is the concept of our students’ own roles and responsibilities on a local, national and global scale.
